'From Here to Maternity' Announces New Maternity Information Site

July 2, 2004 -- The founder of From Here To Maternity Ltd has responded to the severe lack of choice in the high street maternity wear market by launching a new information site. The site, www.maternityindex.org , is designed to help pregnant women locate their nearest independent maternity wear specialist store.

Leigh Martin, who also designed the site, was aware of the frustration experienced by pregnant women looking for good quality maternity wear on the high street. "Many of the high street chains have now dropped their maternity wear lines and many more only sell through their catalogues, this means women have limited opportunities to try on maternity wear and lingerie, and certainly no access to advice."

The website identifies the nearest specialist maternity wear store by region and provides information on fashion collections, lingerie, sizing, a guide to buying and fun links to other pregnancy resources.

"There is a specialist in most regions and women are usually delighted to find them!" says Leigh.

The site is also designed to help promote independent maternity wear retailers in this country, most of whom are women who have opened businesses after appalling experiences sourcing their own maternity wear in the UK.
