Maternity Designer Offers Clothes to Pregnant Military Wives

August 29, 2004 -- In times of war, many people wonder how they can help our troops. Clothing designer Rita Faith Scott, CEO and Chief Designer for Double Occupancy Maternity, has found a unique way to do just that. She offered a complete maternity outfit to the first 100 pregnant military wives who contacted her, with the provision that their husbands are serving or have served in Iraq or Afghanistan. Pregnant logged onto www.doubleoccupancymaternity.com and selected either a top and pants outfit or a dress from a selected inventory. Sizes range from XS-XL.

"I want to do this because I think the military troops are making the ultimate sacrifice for all of us," Scott said. "I really want to do something for them and this is what I can do. They need to know we support them over here."

Double Occupancy is a rather new brand, but Hollywood is already taking to it. Geena Davis, Leah Remini and Heidi Klum have all enjoyed the comfort of soft, flattering Double Occupancy clothes. Scott, who has an engineering background, designed her clothes to be adjustable throughout the pregnancy. This helps pregnant women stay on a budget and minimize their shopping time. The Double Occupancy collection includes business, casual and evening wear and is sold online and in stores across America.

Scott's Double Occupancy clothing was recently modeled at a fashion show at the First Annual Golden Needle Awards, where a portion of the proceeds from the event was donated to the Thalians Mental Health Center at the John Wayne Cancer and the Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Institute at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Pregnant military wives who want to qualify for a free outfit must provide their husband's name, troop number and where they are stationed (or have been stationed) in the war. More instructions will be provided on the Double Occupancy web site, or people can call Rita Scott directly at 310-780-9704 or 310-217-1066.
