MOMMY CHIC GRAND OPENING AT THE MALL AT CHESTNUT HILL TO BENEFIT BOSTON'S BRIGHAM AND WOMEN'S HOSPITAL NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT ON NOVEMBER 8TH 2002

Mommy Chic, the creators of stylish and sophisticated ready-wear for mothers to be will celebrate the grand opening of its first store in Boston! The new store located at The Mall at Chestnut Hill will soon be the answer to many Boston area expectant women's prayers since it is the only designer-owned and -operated maternity store at the mall!

Renowned for it's luxurious knits, elegant evening gowns, and coordinating separates that take the maternity set from the boardroom to the cocktail party, Mommy Chic will keep pregnant women fashionable without costing them a small fortune.

The Boston store will hold a Grand Opening VIP reception and charity auction to benefit Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care unit. Boston-native, Mommy Chic designer, Angela Chew will auction off several ensembles from her collections. "Being from Boston, I've always known that the Brigham and Women's Hospital is well known for its outstanding practice in women's health. I feel proud that we can help women be beautiful and healthy on the inside as well as on the outside. Also, I feel it is a great way to give back to this community where I grew up."

In addition to Mommy Chic line, the new Baby Chic (for infants) line as well as the b. chic (for children up to 6 years) collections, which feature a beautiful, European-styled designs are available at the Boston store. Baby Chic, in just its first year, is already up for the 2002 Fresh Faces Awards sponsored by Children's Business/WWD.

Mommy Chic was founded by the husband-and-wife team Peter and Angela Chew in 1998. The line was borne out of frustration when an expecting Mrs. Chew could not find stylish clothing suitable for work or special occasions. "It seemed that there were two choices at the time, said Angela. I could either spend a few hundred dollars for a polyester crepe suite at a major chain or wear oversized shirts and tees with drawstring pants." With those slim options, she began designing her first Mommy Chic collection.    

Mommy Chic fashions are worn by celebrities such as Brandy, Ricki Lake, Kelly Ripa, Uma Thurman and Cate Blanchett.
